The bicycle has got a lift up. It became a fixie. Not that I am particularly fond of fixies, but one must try it sometime.

I don't know whether you still looking for comments on this blog but I suprisingly found it while searching for more information about the origin of the St. Gotthard. I have the same model (just bought it last year for 50 € from a friend). I had the same idea making a fixie out of it but so far I just changed the tires which all where original but too old and had to be replaced. Maybe you could tell me more about this bike's history? When was it build? What was the original price? Aso...

Hi Rene,

There's a bit of history about the bike in the first post on this blog. I don't know when it was built, I bought it in 1998 in Aachen, second hand for 300 German Marks. I rode it a bit like a fixie, but now it's single speed, has 2 brakes.
